Original vintage Walt Disney Mickey Mouse Treasure Chest money bank dating from the mid-1930s.
Made in Japan from lithographed tin, the bank features wonderful early Disney artwork depicting Mickey and Minnie Mouse on the lid with the slogan “We’ll Do Our Best to Fill This Chest” and an Isle of Thrift treasure chest scene.
The colourful wraparound artwork features a selection of early Disney characters including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Donald Duck, Clarabelle Cow and others. The Japanese-made version is distinguished from the American version by the British pound (£) symbols appearing on the money bags, suggesting it was produced for an export market.
